50 Questions, Eighteen Years + Letters with You
THE CHALLENGE
Monica had a deeply personal vision: 50 Questions and its companion book, Letters With You, a heirloom memento created by mums, for mums. The challenge wasn't just designing a book cover; it was transforming an emotional idea into a tangible, high-end physical object that felt personal enough to keep forever, yet polished enough to sit on a coffee table or compete in boutique retail.
THE STRATEGIC & CURATIVE PROCESS
Bringing this love project to life required a meticulous balance of restraint and tactile luxury:
Custom Typography & Hierarchy: I developed bespoke cover typography designed to feel intimate, warm, and timeless. The letterforms needed to convey gentle nostalgia without leaning into overly sentimental or cloying visual tropes.
Materiality & Color Curation: A keepsake is defined by how it feels in your hands. I led the material selection process, vetting textured linen covers that would age gracefully over time. We tested dozens of print swatches to curate a muted, sophisticated palette that resonated with modern mothers seeking understated elegance over mass-market trends.
Production Precision: From paper stock weight to foil stamping execution, every touchpoint was considered to ensure the physical product matched the depth of the written content inside.
THE IMPACT
What started as a passion project was elevated into a beautifully crafted brand ecosystem. The resulting pieces don't just store memories, they act as tactile heirlooms that mothers proudly hold onto, gift, and pass down.
